Throw out the rule book!

Who decided the way your industry should work?

Give yourself permission to think in a different way.

Do it your way - as long as it's legal and ethical

There are no rules so throw out the book and start to achieve more – generate new ideas and subsequently leads by allowing yourself to explore new ways of doing things.

For example, if your objective is growth then make a list of 20 or more possible solutions.  Don’t think about them too much at this stage just get them down on paper or up on a whiteboard.

Now think about each in turn.  Mark it as viable, likely to be viable, less viable or unviable.  Start to explore those which are viable or likely to be viable as if you are going to implement the ideas.

You should be surprised at the opporutnities you have identified as well as solving some of your existing challenges – often subliminally by distancing yourself a little.

Just remember – there are no rules – come to the table with a open mind and a blank page, have fun and keep going!

About Marie

I started Elite Edge at the end of 1999 and I am still as passionate about marketing today as I was then - probably more so because I consider myself very lucky to do a job that I love every day! My area of specialism is strategic planning but like most people these days, I wear many other hats too!
